PSM - Proud Winners of the Seatrade Award 2010 for "Innovation in Ship Operation" for ClearView

  
  Over 350 international guests travelled to the UK to celebrate in a venue steeped in history dating back from the twelfth century, one of the longest running maritime award schemes to recognise those who have made outstanding contributions over the last year for safe, efficient and environmentally friendly shipping.

PSM were short listed to receive the Category III award for 'Innovation in Ship operation' along with Det Norske Veritas AS, Norway and Fred Wetzel Architecture Agency, France 		 
This independently judged scheme was set up in 1989 in line with the resolutions set forth  by the International Maritime Organization.  Although the categories have changed slightly through the years, they have always remained strongly linked to the IMO's mission statement:  "Safe, Secure and Efficient Shipping on Clean Oceans" ClearView Oily-water Overboard Discharge Monitoring Equipment
    The awards were presented by Guest of Honour' Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope.  First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff.

  an evening of celebration and networking held amidst the mediaeval splendour of the Guildhall in the heart of the City of London.  
  Having been pipped to the post at the IBJ awards in November after being tipped to win, this award came as a very welcome, if complete surprise!

No matter how carefully controlled OWS systems are, accidents and equipment malfunctions occur.  Incidents of over limit discharge are easily traced by GPS and Satellite imaging, leading to costly fines and vessel exclusions. Recently, these fines for non-habitual occurrences have been set by the courts at several millions of US$ per incident.
The ClearviewTM system is designed as a complete and integrated equipment package that is easily and inexpensively tailored to suit each vessel.  Signals are collected from existing sensors in most cases saving unnecessary duplication and cabling. PSM manufactures a full range of Type approved sensors and can provide any additional measurements and alarm initiators if required. The system marshalling enclosure provides all the hardware termination facilities to make installation fast and simple and during a vessels normal turnaround
