PSM claims to offer more safety features for less money with their latest LR Type approved BULKSAFE system, meeting SOLAS REG.XII/12 for WATER INGRESS ALARM. Only a single sensor is required in each hold to provide a compliant pre-alarm and main alarm warning, thus saving cost on hardware and installation. One of the unique features of the PSM Bulksafe system is the ability to check the entire system from sensors to alarm unit at a deck location with a simple test handle. There are no impractical washing systems and no mechanical switches. The PSM designers believe it is important to remove any devices of statistical unreliability from these primary safety systems. Furthermore, if installed using the easi-fit recommendations the sensors are not only fully checkable even with a fully loaded cargo they are 100% serviceable and removable in this condition. All of this comes in addition to the auto self-check of the system, affording the crew a real peace of mind. The sensors used in the new low cost system are taken from PSM's existing range of well-proven level transmitters extensively used in Marine and Navy duties. With their NATO approved sensors and nearly 30 year pedigree in the industry PSM believe they offer operators confidence in the ruggedness of the components designed for this tough application. PSM claims their new system is one of the lowest cost and simplest systems to install. In most cases the systems can be installed during a voyage. PSM recognise that all bulkers are different and provide a comprehensive pack of drawings giving optional installation methods and arrangements. PSM says it offers the widest range of optional fittings and accessories to simplify installation at sea.
